Read below for a detailed look at our 10 step project management process.
THE INTIAL CONSULTATION
The initial consultation with your c2 designer is a highly productive meeting, up to 2 hours, when you and your designer work as a team to begin the vision for your project! We will take a tour of the spaces to be decorated or renovated and any other spaces that might be relevant to your design plan. We discuss your needs, vision, budget, time frame, and make initial recommendations for improving the space. This is a working appointment where we provide valuable information, advice, resources, and a solid direction for your design project. We will also review the terms of our Letter of Agreement.
We outline the scope of work for the project, design intent and goals and any associated fees. Initial retainer is collected and letter of agreement signed and approved.
Step 3 is where we take the time to plan your project. We start with a design concept which is further developed through renderings, sketches, elevations, mood boards, and color schemes. We source all materials, fixtures and furnishings. During this step, we work closely with our trades people to meet onsite and collect bids based on the scope of the project. An initial budget is also developed during this step.
INITIAL DESIGN PRESENTATION
During this meeting, your designer will go over details of your custom design concepts. This includes all floor plans and/or renderings, color scheme, mood boards, fabric samples, furniture selections, etc.
The Final Presentation may include professional drawings, design concept boards with furnishings, fabric memos and detailed budget breakdown. All information is laid out so that you will be able to visualize what the finished space will look like. A proposal with pricing will be shared for client review/approval and payment will be collected in full. Once payment is collected, orders will be placed. We will create purchase orders, track orders, assess lead times, note any back-orders or discontinued items that may delay the project, and make decisions whether or not to re-select if necessary.
FINAL DESIGN PRESENTATION
Next, we invite all the trades that will be involved in the process for a site visit to discuss the project scope and to take measurements and photos. They will each provide a written estimate outlining their scope of work and the cost for labor and/or materials. These estimates will be presented and approved.
SITE MEASURE & PLANNING WITH TRADES
During this phase we initiate our agreed upon role in any possible construction or renovations included in your project. This usually means that we are collaborating with builders, vendors, fabricators and other contractors. We make any necessary site visits to ensure a successful process and timely completion.
CONSTRUCTION & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
All items ordered are received at a designer receiving warehouse, inspected for damages, tagged and stored until installation day. Claims and reorders are made for any items that arrive damaged. We prefer to install on one day instead of several different deliveries arriving onsite, however, some custom items like window treatments will be installed prior to the big day.
Project Reveal or Install Day is the day we all wait for! Items are installed and styled for a beautiful and inspiring finish.
We walk through the finished space and point out all the features and functions. The walk-through may happen on the same day of the reveal or on a separate day.
We will discuss a convenient day to schedule a professional photographer to shoot pictures of the gorgeous finished product!
